It's
so tempting to stretch the truth in
order to overcome an objection.
Perhaps you see the need for just
"a little something" to
help convince a prospect to come
live in your community.
Don't every make the mistake of
compromising your integrity in order
to make a sale. Although this might
succeed in the short term, in the
long term it will come back to bite
you. Your good name and good
reputation will serve you better
over the long haul, even if it means
losing a sale in the short run.
Additionally, exaggerating your
community's ability to meet a need
may open them up to potential law
suits.
I was taught early on in my
career to always "under-
promise and over-deliver" on
the services we offer our customers.
We would all be well served to heed
this advice. In this way, we will exceed
the expectations of our customer and
secure good relations and future
referral opportunities.
